A 2K lacquer is a lacquer that consists of two components. (Whether you use it on your car or other projects doesn’t really matter, of course.) The first thing is the paint itself. This is the color the surface gets. The second component is the hardener. This ensures that the surface or object is protected against scratches, gasoline, chemicals and weather conditions.

Should clear lacquer be applied over 2K lacquer?
Spraying a clear coat over a 2K paint is not necessary. Because a 2K lacquer consists of two components, including a hardener. This provides the same protective layer that a clear coat also provides. Would you still like to spray a clear coat over the 2K paint? Then we advise you to use a transparent 2K varnish. You can use this to finish the 2K car paint.
